EV charging levels explained

Before plugging in, let’s talk about charging levels. These levels indicate how fast your Kia EV will juice up. There are three main levels:

  • Level 1 (120v): This is the slowest charging option, typically using a standard household outlet. It’s great for overnight charging.
  • Level 2 (240v): This is the most common home charging setup. It’s significantly faster than Level 1 and can fully charge your Kia EV in a few hours. Level 2 chargers are often hardwired into your electrical panel for safety and efficiency.
  • Level 3 (DC Fast Charging): These chargers, also known as DC Fast Chargers, are found at public charging stations and can deliver a quick boost in around 20-30 minutes.
