This advanced technology uses a camera and sensors to detect potential hazards, including pedestrians, cyclists, and even situations at intersections. When a potential collision is identified, the system can automatically apply the brakes to help mitigate the impact or avoid it altogether.
Blind-Spot Collision Warning
Upgrade your awareness with the available Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist. This intelligent system monitors your blind spots, alerting you to vehicles you might miss. In some situations, it can even take action by gently steering your Niro EV away from a potential collision. The system also provides helpful warnings when exiting a parallel parking spot, giving you extra peace of mind.
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist
Backing up just got safer with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, a standard feature on the Niro EV. This intelligent system uses sensors to detect oncoming obstacles when you're in reverse. It can warn you with an alert and, in some cases, even apply the brakes to help prevent a collision. Front and rear parking sensors provide an additional layer of security by beeping as you get close to objects, making parking maneuvers a breeze.
Lane Following Assist
Stay centered with Lane Following Assist, a standard feature on the Niro EV. This driver-assistance technology uses a forward-facing camera to monitor lane markings. When activated, the system can subtly adjust steering inputs to help keep your Niro EV positioned within the detected lane lines.
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control w/ Stop & Go - Curve
The Niro EV takes highway driving to the next level with standard Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. This advanced system automatically adjusts your speed to maintain a safe distance from the car in front, even in stop-and-go traffic. But that's not all! By using navigation data, it can anticipate upcoming curves and slow down smoothly before them, then return your speed to the original setting after you navigate the bend. Enjoy a more relaxed and efficient driving experience.
Highway Driving Assist
Elevate your highway commutes with the available Highway Driving Assist system. This intelligent package combines cameras, radar sensors, and navigation data to do double duty: maintaining a safe distance from the car ahead, even in stop-and-go traffic, and keeping you centered in your lane. Plus, changing lanes becomes a breeze. Simply activate your turn signal, and the system can provide gentle steering assistance to guide you into the next lane while maintaining your set speed with a convenient one-touch button.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist w/ Junction Turning
The standard Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist uses sensors and cameras to scan the road for potential hazards, and can even help automatically apply the brakes when the system detects a potential obstruction in your path. Available Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist w/ Junction Turning also monitors for a risk of collision with an oncoming vehicle while turning left at an intersection.1
Blind-Spot Collision Warning
The standard system detects objects in your blind spot, giving the driver visual and/or audible signals to help warn of detected objects outside the driver’s field of view.2
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist
If oncoming obstacles are detected while backing up, the standard Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist can alert the driver or apply the brakes to help avoid a potential collision. Front and rear parking sensors also alert when approaching obstacles.3
Lane Following Assist
Designed to monitor the lane markers on the road with a front view camera on the windshield, the Lane Following Assist system may provide steering inputs to help keep your vehicle centered in its lane.4
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control w/ Stop & Go - Curve
Available Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control w/ Stop & Go - Curve is designed to automatically adjust your driving speed to help maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle detected ahead of you. It also uses navigation data to predict an oncoming curve in the road ahead, helping reduce the cruising speed and, upon exiting the curve, helps return the vehicle's speed to the previous setting.5
Highway Driving Assist
On certain federal highways where information is available, optional Highway Driving Assist can help maintain a comfortable speed and distance from the vehicle ahead by matching the posted speed limits.6
